So many times we hear from clients, "How do I get those curls the celebrities have?" To be honest, before I was a hairstylist I had wondered the same thing. For some reason it never turned out the way theirs did from a regular curling iron. Thats when we discovered the "magic" wand. It is a curling iron that has no clamp on it. It's actually a brilliant idea because you can avoid getting indents in your hair from the normal curling iron, or fish hooks as us stylist would could call it; when the bottom of the hair strand is sticking out instead of being nicely curled. The great thing about the wand is that you control the tightness of the curl and the size of it. You simply wrap the hairstrand around the iron and hold it in place, the less time you hold it the looser the curl will be. Therefore, vice virsa the longer you hold it in place the tighter the curl. Try to hold the wand vertical as well this allows you to have more control of where the hair will lay.

Pompadour

The coolest thing about fashion is its a reoccuring cycle. For instance in 2013, the pompadour became the newest popular trend for men's hair. I know we have both done a massive amount of pompadours this year. Ofcourse, to the people who have lived through the "elvis time", know that this fashion statement is not new, it has just come back into style again. However, these days stylist have totally different techniques therefore making each pompadour totally different from another if they so choose. Some men are scared when we mention the pompadour because they automatically assume its crazy long on top and curled in etc..but we assure them that there are hundreds of different types of pompadours and we can customize it to their likings. This style fits all different types of lifestyles!!
